Each January I make an "Impossible List." I sit down and think of things that I would love to see happen in the upcoming year- things that really seem virtually impossible. I write them down, and give that list to the Lord. I just prayerfully offer up my list to the God of the impossible!
Friends, amazing things happen when you go to God believing that He can do the "impossibles" on your list. But here's the catch- You have to truly believe that He can do it! And why wouldn't you believe that? He *is* the God of the Universe!
When we pray to God and enter the realm of 'the impossible,' we have just stepped into a deeper realm of the Spirit of God. He specializes in the impossible!
I've seen Him do it in my life and in the lives of others. I have a dear friend who prayed and fasted at the beginning of 2011 for something HUGE... she wanted to be debt free by the end of the year. Some of you may be thinking- Debt free?? That *really* is impossible for me to be debt free! Really?? She put it on her impossible list last year, and guess what? Here, at the end of 2011, she's DEBT FREE!
Start praying "Impossible verses" and see what happens.
There are only TWO things that are impossible for God. When you can get a hold of the truth of both of them, it will change everything for you-
The two things that are impossible for God are-
1) It is impossible for God to sin. He is pure love! He *wants* your Impossible List!
2) It is impossible for God to lie. He cannot lie, therefore we can STAND, (stand, friends!) on the verses in His Word that tell us that God CAN do the impossible!
Verses like these- Matthew 17:20- So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief: for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." (I keep a mustard seed in my Bible to remind me of this- seriously!)
Luke 1:37- For with God all things are possible.
Hebrews 6:18- ...it is impossible for God to lie.
Matthew 19:26- ... but with God all things are possible.
Genesis 18:14 (at the promise of Isaac)- Is there anything too hard for the Lord?
So what are you waiting for? What's on your "Impossible List" this year? An unsaved family member? A pregnancy? An adoption? Debt? Missions? Prodigal child? Godly husband? It is NOT too hard for the Lord! He delights in you even asking Him for the impossible! You're telling him by praying the impossible that you *know* only He can do it.
Go make out your Impossible List! Bring it before the Lord everyday and speak these "impossible verses" outloud so the Enemy, (who will try to tell you your situation is impossible) can hear you!
Praise to the God of the Impossible!
This makes me smile!
